About Land Between the Lakes

Land Between the Lakes, also called LBL, is known for its lush forests, beautiful lakes, and plenty of local wildlife. There are over 171,000 acres of land to explore in this incredible National Recreation Area, and the hiking trails are numerous and range in difficulty from a lazy stroll to a hike-through path with off-the-grid camping. 

Things to do Around Land Between the Lakes

There’s plenty of opportunity to go fishing around LBL, with numerous beaches scattered all throughout the area. If you bring your own boat, you’ll find plenty of boat docks, which make it easy to spend a day out on the water. Additionally, you can go hiking, biking, or plan a drive through the Elk & Bison Prairie. This protected spot is an excellent option for families with kids because it’s a safe way to see some incredible wildlife.
